Final Projects- eMagazines on Sex and Marriage

As the final project for the semester I had the regular classes create a magazine that promoted what we had learned about relationships, sex, marriage and so on in John Paul II's Theology of the Body. They had to pick an audience for their magazine and it had include at least 5 sections: Opinion, Health, Entertainment, How To and Fashion as well as a title page and three ads. Each member of the group had to write at least one article (and submit it to turnitin, com to check for plagiarism). The magazine had to be created using Word and then uploaded to Calameo which is a free site that turns docs into virtual books, magazines, brochures....  I have to say the results were pretty amazing for the most part... you can see them below:

You can see the directions right here

  1. Wow, these are spectacular! What a great idea for a project. Well done, well done. This is the first I have heard of Calameo and I will definitely be checking it out!

  2. This looks great! How did you hear about Calameo, Carmen?

  3. Mary Ann,
I found it listed in the web 2.0 wiki:

which is very well organized and has great working links! As for where I found the wiki...probably from twitter!

  4. WOW!!! Where have you been all my educating life?!! I am so incredibly impressed with what you are doing. I too teach Morality and I am always looking for ways to get the students more involved, active and critically thinking about the issues raised. What textbook are you using for Morality?

  5. Hi Allison, I'm glad you enjoy my Blog. We use the textbook "Our Moral Life in Christ" by Midwest Theological Institute.
I'm not writing anything during the summer since I'm not teaching till the Fall.
